Privacy Policy

Kashi Dwar ("we", "this site", kashidwar.com) is a content website about Varanasi. We believe in collecting as little of your data as possible — ideally none. This page explains plainly what happens when you visit.

What we collect directly: nothing

Kashi Dwar is a static website. We do not require accounts, do not have login forms, and do not ourselves collect, store or sell personal information. We do use Google Analytics to understand which guides are useful (see the Analytics section below), but that data is aggregated and not used to identify you. If you email us, we see your email address and message and use them only to reply; we don't add you to any list.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies for its own functionality. However, third-party services described below may set cookies when enabled. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will work fully without them.

Advertising (Google AdSense) — disclosure

We may display advertising served by Google AdSense or similar third-party networks to support the cost of running this site. When advertising is active:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick/Ad cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or via youradchoices.com.
• Visitors in the EEA/UK and other regions with consent requirements will be shown a consent mechanism before any advertising cookies are set, as required by law and by Google's EU User Consent Policy.

Ads are always visually distinguishable from our editorial content, and our recommendations are never paid placements.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site — which guides are read most, roughly where readers come from, and whether pages load well — so we can improve them. To do this, Google Analytics:

• Sets cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish one visitor from another across a session and over repeat visits.
• Collects aggregate, non-identifying information: pages viewed, approximate location (city/country, derived from a truncated IP address — Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses), device and browser type, and referring source.
• Does not let us see who you personally are. We never combine this data with anything that would identify you by name.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Visitors in regions with consent requirements (EEA/UK and others) will be asked for consent before non-essential analytics or advertising cookies are set. Google's own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Third-party links and embedded content

Our pages link to external sites (official temple portals, photographers' pages, booking resources). Once you leave kashidwar.com, those sites' own privacy policies apply. Fonts are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which may log requests as described in Google's privacy policy.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience travel guide and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California, DPDP Act in India), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we hold none beyond any email you've sent us, exercising these rights is simple: write to us and we'll delete your correspondence on request.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page whenever our practices change — for example, before enabling advertising or analytics — and revise the "last updated" date above.
